Where there’s trust and communication, there’s happy hybrid teams
A significant number of employees around the world now work remotely for at least some of the time. And while this has had well-documented productivity and well-being benefits, hybrid working has brought new challenges for teams in maintaining connection and morale.
In a hybrid world, most communication between individuals and teams happens on virtual platforms, but not everyone is comfortable or happy with it. Shifts in team dynamics, less time spent face-to-face, and fewer informal interactions have made it harder to establish and maintain trust… and much easier to lose when avoidable misunderstandings and miscommunications happen.
So, what does it take to do it well?
Trust that the people we work with can and will deliver, and trust that our people have good intentions and shared values.
Working Well in a Hybrid World addresses the challenge of building trust and aims to decrease the stresses hybrid working can cause by teaching members of hybrid teams the skills and attitudes necessary to keep engagement, performance and retention on track.
Crucially, it gives your people the tools to tap into the new possibilities and potential available when we can work well in a hybrid setting.
Who this program is for
This program is suitable for executives, managers, project managers, team leaders, team members and human resource professionals.
It’s ideal for anyone looking to expand their communication toolbox and lead or work within hybrid teams that thrive.
What to expect on this program
The Working Well in a Hybrid World program aims to help hybrid teams succeed with:
- Greater levels of empowerment. Remote employees are left to work unsupervised on issues to a much greater extent. The boss is no longer in the same room so employees need to feel empowered to take on more responsibility.
- Highly effective problem-solving. When you aren’t surrounded by more experienced, more knowledgeable people it becomes necessary to work through problems on your own. With the right training, remote workers can take the initiative and step up to the plate.
- More empathy. The pandemic has been difficult for everyone in different ways. This means hybrid employees need to (and generally do) exhibit greater levels of understanding and empathy to teammates.
- Improved retention. Anecdotal evidence suggests that hybrid working is improving attrition rates in many organisations. When people exercise effective communication and teamworking skills specific to a hybrid environment, teams are more likely to stay together.
Learning outcomes
Working Well in a Hybrid World equips people in hybrid teams to thrive in:
- a new workplace where team members both work on-site and at home, sometimes in completely different regions or countries.
- a world that’s fluid and changing constantly in ways that we can’t always predict or plan for.
- a working environment with new expectations and new norms about how we relate to and communicate with each other at work.
