Confidence at Work

Releasing limiting behaviours and beliefs and building skills that unleash employees inner confidence

Confidence and self-esteem can be taught and mastered – and the results are incredible

Most people work within a restricted circle of potential. This isn’t because they lack intelligence, skills, opportunities or resources, it’s because they don’t believe in themselves or worse, they think they aren’t good enough. Unfortunately, this is limiting their organisations whose success relies on having people with high levels of independence, self-reliance, self-trust, and initiative.

The good news: self-esteem and confidence are learnable skills and therefore can be taught, understood, and mastered at any stage of life.

Confidence at Work uses practical exercises and coaching to develop a number of soft skills that build confidence and self-esteem and offers participants plenty of opportunities for deep self-exploration to uncover and release limiting beliefs, patterns and behaviours that are holding them back.

Participants leave the course able to take on the world with more energy and determination, resulting in better relationships, higher quality work and the courage to take actions that propel them, and their organisation, towards their full potential.

Who this program is for

This journey of building confidence at work and developing self-esteem is aimed at anyone interested in personal growth and development in their careers.

It is particularly useful for people whose managers have identified them as having greater potential but need support to grow in their roles.

What to expect on this program

Although there is some overlap, the concepts of self-esteem and confidence are quite different.

Self-esteem is how you appreciate and value yourself. It can change over time and is influenced by your life experiences, relationships and interactions with others. Self-esteem is the lens through think act, think and feel. It is internal, and those who have high self-esteem don’t rely on external factors like money, alcohol, material things, status or relationships.

Confidence is your belief, or trust, in yourself and your abilities. It changes according to the situation – you might feel incredibly confident doing a hobby, but less confident at work. A confident person can rise to challenges, deal with difficult situations and take responsibility for their actions.

Both self-esteem and confidence are needed in balance: think about the pop star who is confident on stage but lacks self-esteem and turns to substance abuse. That’s why the Confidence at Work program explores both concepts in depth across two sessions:

Self-esteem workshop
In this session, participants learn how to let go of outdated self-identities so they can clearly see themselves without those labels and step into their true potential.

We will look at their limiting beliefs and replace them with new beliefs based on truth rather than emotions and feelings. We will help them overcome negative patterns and self-talk so that they can start to make the most of their abilities and progress in their career.

Confidence workshop
In this session, participants learn how to rise to new challenges, seize opportunities, deal with difficult situations, and take responsibility if, and when, things go awry.

Participants examine the quality of their actions and learn to evoke the courage to raise the bar and progressively step outside of their comfort zone with determination, a solid plan and clarity. We also support participants in overcoming their biggest fears about work that are holding them back.

Throughout the program, Confidence at Work explores and develops several core skills and competencies that build confidence and self-esteem:

  • Positive and emotional intelligence
  • Self-awareness
  • Adaptability and flexibility
  • Communication
  • Resilience and courage
  • Empathy and self-management
  • Fear management
  • Decision-making, goal-setting and micro-planning
  • Self-promotion, limiting beliefs and self-worth
